Truck not shifting from 1st ge
99 dodge ram 2500 diesel w/95k on her. Friday it locked up in first gear on wont shift to 2nd. I disconnected the batteries for about ten minutes and reconnected them. Drove the truck and she shifted fine to i shut the truck down and started it back up again. Any info or solutions on this problem?? </P>
I think the trans is fine, i'm leaning towards a speed senor or the transmission control module shot</P>

Well, i just fixed my problem, The speed sensor went up causing the trans to stay in first gear. It's located on the rear of the tranny and costs $26.00 plus tax at Auto Zone. Hopefully this will help someone from spending hundreds of dollars at a shop when they tell you they did all this work when it took about 5min. to fix with easy access!!!<img border="0" src= "http://www.dodgeforums.com/smileys/smiley1.gif>
