I am in dire need of assistance. A friend of mine want's to drag race his 93 Dakota p/u 318 cu.in. 518A transmission. He has already installed a larger camshaft, header's, 4.10 rear gear's. The problem involve's the transmission. We know from experience that the 518A transmission will not hold up. What we want to do is swap in a non-lock/up 427 torque flight. We already know that the 518 and 727 share part's, there for one should be as strong as the other, but we want the 727. However there is a problem in locating the injector timing sensor in the bell housing, also can't locate a torque convertor that will match the old 727 to the late model flywheel. please help if you can.</P>
