Poor man's impact. Put a wrench on the nut that is long anough to hit with a 2x4. Don't know why but it works better than a peice of steel

i just replaced my fan clutch today (96 ram 2500 5.9) used a strap wrench to hold the pully and a huge/long allied wrech for working on bulldozers, took alot of umph but mine finally came off after about 10 minutes of straining.

i have a 96 ram 2500 with a 360 in it and my waterpump bearing housing broke and i used a heavy duty like dulldozer cresant wrench and fit that on there and i used a huge pipe wrench to put around the pulley and gave her a yank and poped loose.

the strap wrench is the best way... they arent that expensive either. Sears should have one.
