Default guage lights?

i was wondering what the problem could be on my 01 dodge ram 1500...all the lights in my gauges when out...like the back light wont come on behind the spedometer, tack, oil, etc...and i check the fuses for the cluster A, cluster B, and Illum...and they fuses all seemed fine (no burn marks)...so i was wondering what else i should check...cus i doubt all the bulbs went out @ the same time...so is there anything else i could check b4 i tear apart my whole dash?

Bet you don't have any tail lights either....

Check fuses again. Replace with known good fuse even if it looks like the one in there is good.

I'd check for voltage going into the dimmer switch then out the dimmer switch...possibly the dimmer is bad/dirty

on the rear of the switch ... one wire should be 12 volts with lights on the other should vary from 12 to 0 as they are adjusted

Also, check the position of the dimmer. I think you can actually shut off the dash lights if it is turned all the way in the down position.
If that's up and you checked the voltage going in and coming out and they were ok, you may need to visit a junk yard. They'll usually let you test the switch in the vehicle before you buy.
