Default 1993 Black Dodge Shadow 2.5L

Hey everyone. I just decided to up and join and figured this was probably a good place to start! I have a 1993 Black Dodge Shadow 2.5L. Amazing little car with about 100hp. Not the best paint job in the world, and certainly not very clean right now - but it's truly an amazing vehicle.

Ignore the missing hubcap. I'm saving for some rims right now

Completely true. This little thing had never had any issues (other than regular maintenance and a belt here and there) and is really a joy to drive around. I swear, nothing stops these things.

I bought one new in Oct.,92...B-day present to myself. green with gold stripe , 3.0 Mitsu v-6, 5 spd. package.
That thing ran hard for many years. Went thru my teenage daughter learning a shifter, then owning it a couple years away at school. Got it back in time to have my son drive sometimes, but also learning to shift. He owned it again for a couple years at
U. Illinois at Springfield. I then 'buy' it back and pulled my 17' v-hull fishing boat for quite some years. Wish i had a pic one day pulling a friends boat across town. The other boat was longer and taller than that car
So, back at the 'hard', i would constantly be scratching second. The thing amazing was the factory transmission worked it's 180k without out any service, other than a couple trans./filter/gasket change. I did get Dodge to agree to look at my heads, the valve guides mainly. After returning from a 2k mile road trip i mentioned i thought it used at least a qt. oil. Turns out right at 70k mi;le warranty , they put on new heads and i paid for a new serp. belt. This is it last pic a couple years ago when i sold it, probably made some money on that car... When I have to buy a new car I have promised myself I will look for a V6 Shadow before anything else. I mean, mine is a 2.5L I4 and has 100hp. The V6, if I'm remembering right, is listed at being 140hp+. Mine is already VERY fun to drive, so I can only imagine driving the V6! And mine only has 80k on it right now, so I'm expecting it to last a long while. I got mine for a steal of only $860, and all it needed was the A/C needing to be fixed. It just keeps on going!

The V6's are fun, but your car looks good why not get the factory 2.5L turbo parts and bolt them on instead of buying a completely different car?

Actually, I hope to be able to convert my Shadow - or a V6, if I can find one - into a race vehicle to ride at my local track. The regular Sports Compact series (where mine would fit) does not allow turbo cars to race. So I'm holding off on that idea for now, though I'm not sure my 2.5L could really take down the competition on its own... Thus, my interest in the V6. But if I don't decide to race it, I know I'd pick up the parts for the turbo as soon as I had the money!

Just a little side note. I got some new hubcaps the other day and put them on today. I also gave him a quick little shine to look nice!

Here's an up close look at the hubcaps. I also got some chrome red valve caps, but I don't think they match that well so I'll be keeping a lookout for something better.
