Newbie from Kentucky
Tony here. I'm the original owner of a 2001 Ram 1500 QuadCab 2WD, 5.2L with a little more than 180k. I can't believe it's lasted me this long, and overall, I have no complaints. A lot of southern miles on it, so it's still in pretty good shape.
I'm not a mechanic by any means, but since Aug. 2014, I've been working on a lot that needed fixing. I couldn't have done most of it without the information posted here. It's been an invaluable resource, and I'm most grateful for it.
The main goal of my project was to get the AC/heater working again and to fix what I suspect was a bad head gasket. Naturally it's escalated, to a lot of "since I'm there already" and "while I'm at it" projects.
Working on it as time permits, I've wrapped up the interior work for the evap and heater cores and blower motor. I've just about about finished the tear down for the engine work.
Can't wait to get it all put back together and drive it again!
