Default RE: ram hemi turbo

hey im new to the forum but i have a 03 1500 hemi with the sts turbo Just installed and having issues with map sencer sending me into (limp mode) also only getting approx 3 pounds of boost ...... still trying to debug with the map clamp I also had got the water over air xtra intercooler as to be able to run approx 6-7 pounds instead of the 5 without the intercooler, but she seems to be running too lean above 3 pounds of boost even with the xtra injector. I will say when it acts right even with 3 pounds it is a Dramatic difference in acceleration and pull. any thoughts or if someone out there has done this it I would apreciate any comments..

Default RE: ram hemi turbo

OK just an update for anyone curious about the hemi with sts turbo from my last post...
Mark over at Advance Powersports ran the vacuum up to the intake and tapped the vacuum line up there. What a difference she is maintaining a steady 6 pounds of boost and feels really strong I plan to Dyno it next friday.... Some of the Questions about Lag from being remote mounted are non existent. Responce is awsome. It will still ocasionally drop to safe or limp mode at 1/2 throttle under heavy load if boost goes over 4.. it freeks out the computer.. which then you have to restart the truck and it is fine again . Im adding a dual boost controller today to keep boost at 3 for normal day to day driving to stop the limp mode issue and to toggle to 6 pounds for some mustang eating.. Im not sure of my 1/4 times but before the turbo..... I had a superchip programmer cold air intake and catback exhaust and was in the high 15's she's a 4x4 Quad cab so she's a little overweight. but now only judging by how it feels.. I think she'll be high 13 or low 14 in the 1/4.. Any ?s or thoughts let me know ... Sorry for the long post but want to give as much info as possible to anyone thinking of trying the sts turbo...

How is she running now? There is a better solution for the Hemi's now. No more 9th(aux) injector. See hemifever's posts on the subject or Check out www.ElColasMotorSports.com

Default RE: ram hemi turbo

i have been thinking about getting the sts kit for about a year and just cant make up my mind. i have been told the hemi dose not like bost and will not hold it and also that you really will not have problems if you dont run to much i guess i really want to know if anyone thinks its a good idea or a bad one i dont want to blow my truck up but would love to get more power out of it and still keep it my daily driver. also what problems would i run into if i did go with the sts set up
