Anytime I see an "Independant Test" conducted by a manufacturer I don't give it any credence. They ran the same one with the 6.0 Powerjoke against the 5.9 Cummins and it's the ONLY time I've seen a 6.0 beat the venerable old 5.9...
That said, I've read some really good reviews on the new Ford diesels, by true independent testers. Ford spent more money on the design of this engine than any previous one, be it diesel or gas and it was completely re-designed from the ground up!
But only time will tell if it will last. Data shows that the failure rate of the 6.0 is more than double that of the Cummins 6.7 (which is a far cry from the reliability of the 5.9 it replaced, IMO).
But yeah, if I was in the market for a diesel, I'd have to SERIOUSLY consider a 2011 Furd...

Nice of ford to wait for the competitions 2011 models. Do you really think the ram is that slow? I gotta say, I think this is biased just a bit. 24 seconds on a 2010 cummins? It's definately not as fast as the ford, but I highly doubt that it's that bad.
2010 Ram : 350 hp and 610 torque
2011 Ford : 390 hp and 735 torque
2010 Chevy : 365hp and 660 torque
And for 2011 Dodge has the 3500 chasis cab. Are they gonna test that one? 26,000 lb GCWR and 13,000 GVWR. Cause that **** will DEFINATELY blow Ford's out of the water! BOOM! But yeah, like you said, as far as engine performance, Cummins had better bring it!

Yeah even though I posted it I think it is a big staggered but GM will be releasing a new Dmax with 400hp and 765 ft/lbs. I dunno I think Ford may have hit the nail on the head with this new one and I have read reports that the new power stroke and torque shift trans are easily capable of 800 ft/lbs and that is from a Ford source so power building potential is there. I dunno if I were to buy new I would buy blue oval.
