Cheap Wind Tunnel article in March 2007 Hot Rod mag
The newest issue of Hot Rod magazine (March 2007)
has the second in a series of articles on aero
improvments. This one's title is:
Wind Camp
How to Go Faster With Air on Your Side at a New and Affordable Wind Tunnel
by David Freiburger
Unfortunately the article has not been put online yet,
but the company has a website:
AeroDyn Wind Tunnel
Mooresville, NC
704/799-1856
www.aerodynwindtunnel.com
It is about a 'low cost' wind tunnel that has just opened near Mooresville North Carolina owned by Gary Eaker, an ex-GM engineer who previously worked on many projects, including NASCAR roof flaps and the super sleek EV-1 electric car. However, this low cost wind tunnel is still in the $400 per hour range, and the operator says you need to plan on 4-5 hours to really learn what improvements can be made.
If you do see the March 2007 Hot Rod on a news stand, I highly recommend picking it up and at least reading the side bar article on page 115 called
'Top 5 Easy Aero Mods That Almost Always Work.'
The first article in the series has been put on line,
