a big factor could also be the amount of sugar.
pouring a 5lb bag is a big difference than the couple cups or so mythbusters did.

it's like the difference between a shot of jack and "leave the bottle"

a pingpong ball in the gas tank can prank someone, once you get going the ball gets sucked to the fuel pump and cuts off the flow. then goes away. but im sure its no fun getting the ball out

as far as suger, ill agree with the above. two or three packets of sugar wont hurt anything simply becuase your dissolving a small amount into x gallons of fuel.

Ok, add 2 packets of sugar to a full tank of fuel on your pride and joy. When you go for a ride don't forget your cell and let us know what the cab ride home was like.

the engine they used barely ran in the first place, adding anything to the gas would have killed it if it were really that bad
i'm not saying adding anything to your gas won't hurt your gas
is it possible that when he added the gas the suggar settled to the bottom and when she started it the engine sucked up the sugar resting on the bottom of the tank? that would be much more concentrated than when mythbusters did it

Cool. Believe their clinical test. Pour a couple of sugar packets into your gas tank, I double dog dare you.
