Ok, let's keep this simple. Let's leave out theories and conspiracies as to why prices are so high and get everybody opinion if these crazy sky rocketing prices are ever going to stop.
Are these prices going to continue to insanly go up and never stop?
Or will they peak, and slowly start coming back down to reality? Say, in the next year.
Let's just try to do the poll, and leave out the reasoning for high prices.

i think they will go down but it wont be much. I think if it was a set rate instead of the hike up up and up. I personally dont have any reasoning to see why they are more now then it ever has been cause i work in the oil field and all major companys are steady at work trying to find everything they can. We all have to make sacrifices, and i believe drilling in areas that where once shut off would help, and this is just my 2 cents so if someoen wants to get mad o well.

I voted that itll come down, but then again I think Santa is real, I think there's only legal ******** in my city, I dont think I pay enough in taxes and that the stripper likes me for who I am and not my 20's.
They have to come down, dont know by how much but the economy simply can't support the prices. People are hurting and not just at the pump, everything is getting a lot more expensive. Stimulus checks? LOL what a fu$*ing joke, want to stimulate the economy then stop the main reason everything is getting and will get even more expensive. I am all for alternative energy but it is quite a few years away, we need to change whatever is preventing us from drilling on our own land and off of our coasts. I am not in the biz but from what I hear the technology is far superior to what it once was, we can go in and not hardly leave a footprint after we leave. One of the animals in alaska is now much more plentiful because of the pipeline, they use it to stay warm. Alternative fuel is NOT the answer NOW, we need to fix our current situation and still pursue alt. fuels so that people arent going broke waiting for the answer.

the prices wont ever come down by any real amount unless the govt steps in, which i doubt.
the price of everything goes up over time, but since everyone buys gas so often and the press makes such a huge deal out of it, people focus on fuel prices.
take any product...anything...and look at the price in 1950 and now...or even 2000 and now. everything goes up, all of the time.

RE: Will these fuel price hikes ever stop?
Most types of electronics (DVD players, computers, VCRs, digital cameras, microwaves, etc.)have come down in price over the years......

true, but I think that is because it is technology that so quickly becomes obsolete.there is nothing currently that would make oil or the refining process obsolete.

I dont think its going to go down much anytime soon unless the gov't regulates it which most likely won't happen, unless they're smart because its crippling the entire economy. Granted that everything increases in price, but being that it takes fuel to get everything where it needs to be means that everything is going to be increased due to this. Our companies fuel was over $1M for the first quarter for just the region. Huge increase from the normal $550- $600K.
