They also passed a law a few years ago that if you injur or kill someone (shoot, stab, bludgeon) in self defense, the person or family of the person you injured or killed cannot sue you or seek any types of damages.
Now if we could just get VA to incorporate the "home is castle" doctrine, everything will be ok.
Both of these should be national. It's stuff like this that makes me want to run for office.

Thank you,

I live just over the line in WV and am planning on getting my non-resident CCW permit since there's greater reciprocity with Virginia's permit than with WV. Cost is about the same for non-resident VA and resident WV. Had my CCW in VA until I moved two years ago. I was thrilled when VA changed the law last year to eliminate municipalities from creating more stringent firearm restrictions than state law.
I'd like to see a national CCW permit. After all, the Constitution applies to all 50 states. The US DOJ has issued an opinion that RKBA is an individual right protected by the Constitution, and they should back it up by declaring any laws denying CCW permits to its citizens on a shall issue basis null and void. Although I suppose this is something that should go to SCOTUS to decide and it's actually something within the scope of their jurisdiction.
Actually, I'd like to see more states take the Vermont approach and allow concealed carry without a permit. Amazing that something like that only happens in New England and in the home state of Howard "The Scream" Dean.
