dakotas faster!!! . i have outran several with the 360 and the "hemi" 2 and 4wd. i would have to say ram is bigger though, hence the outrunning with my dakota. i have never been that much of a fan of rams though.

The first two generations of Dakotas were built on the Dodge Diplomat platform and, I think, far superior to the last 2 generations of Dakotas (although I think the last 2 Dakotas were alot better looking than the rolling brick original). The Dakota is now a 3/4 version of the Ram. I love the look, but think it doesn't make sense anymore. Sorry Dak owners, just my opinion.

I love my 2nd gen. Sure mine is one of the heavier ones out there but it still is a lot lighter than most rams and since i have the 5 speed, I'm able to control it better if i do decide to run on one.

Dakota is lighter so better

Really... it's a kinda gay question but I'll humor you.

If I want to haul, tow, race or compensate... I'll choose a Ram.

If I want to go muddin' or have a street truck... I'll either lower or jack up a Dakota.

A 6 speed srt10 ram at a good track was running 14.1s in the 1/4

a Stock Single Cab R/T is in the high 14s with a 360v8 with only 250 crank hp...

my Dakota Stomps Hemi and Srt10 Rams, and the CTDs... but im heavily moded. So that doesn't count.

I think the 2nd gen Dakotas are the Best looking truck ever.

Rams are bigger of coruse... they are a full size truck...

What kind of question is this?

And i know in about 4 hours this topic will be nothing but a pile of flames and crap talking ram owners like always...

Whats the point of this topic?

who knows. its kinda a retarded question in the first place, i mean its obvious (to me at least) that each truck is for different purposes and reasons. Shouldn't take Einstein to figure out what those are...

ok, I will speak in generalities to try and make this question not seem so biased towards the ram...(bigger, really?)

the base V8 in the Ram and Dak are 4.7L non HO.

Both have a 3.7L V6.

The Ram has the hemi and the CTD, as it should. it is a great Full size platform.

the recent generation of Dakota admittedly is the slowest and least favored by the aftermarket. While the 3rd generation of Ram was the highest for the ram.

But honestly... this isnt even a question that can be humored without a biased opinion one way or another. If you dont vote for the Ram to be dodges best truck, your either blind or biased... (again, generalities) I will not go through and do a point, counter point. I dont see a need for it
