Fuel guage just went south/how to fix it?
I have a 1997 Ram 1500 v8 Mag. club cab
I hope this is the proper forum for this problem.
My problem is my gas gauge needlewas all over the place, then down past e. It is now staying past e and the low gas light is coming on(I just filled the tank just before this problem). I need to know how can this be fixed? Is it in the gas tank? what procedures will I need to perform to fix it.Does anyone have any diagrams available on how to acomplish this task? Is this a difficult job? How much will parts run for this fix? I know ...alot of questions. I just wanted to cover all bases in one post.

sending unit for the gauge is part of the fuel pump assy.so you will need to replace the whole assy.it's located in the tank.easiestway to replace it is to take the bed off the truck relieve fuel pressure unplug and remove lock ring then remove assy. for price best to call autozone

my 95 neon did the same thing but i just left it and went by gas mileage. If you know the average gas mileage and the size of your tank you'll be fine. Actually go by the lowest of your average so you won't run out. Why fix something that doesn't affect anything? You know
