Default MDS? What?

I just got my new Magnum thing in the mail. It says the the RT Hemi version will have a Multipal Displacement system. I assume that this is the same as the old Caddy V-8/6/4 only controlled by the PCM. Anyone deep into the Hemi computers? Anyone reprogramming them yet? Please let me know. If this is not an option setup on the magnum, I won't be buying one........

Your correct, it is the 4-6-8 system. I know that it will be in the 300C's, but I do not know if it will be in the Magnum with that system or not.

The MDS system(Multi-Displacement system) is not like the old caddy 4-6-8. It is only a 4-8 system which produces 17 mpg in the city and 25 highway. It only uses the power of all 8 cylinders when you need them and goes from 4-8 in 40 miliseconds. So you'll have power from all 8 cylinders before you even realize you've punched the throttle. MDS is a much more advanced system than a caddilac system from the early eighties. Given the option, I wouldn't disable it.

Yep, it's now a 4-8 system, but it was originally being advertised as a 4-6-8 system a few years back.
