Default Fuel Injector question...

Does anyone here know the flow rate of the fuel injectors used in the Chrysler 2.7L V-6 engine? I've done some calculations, and come up with a flow rate of 27 Lb/hr, but I want to be able to verify that.

I agree. I'd reevaluate your numbers, t.vago.

I forgot to add, make sure you're calculating using an 80% duty cycle. I believe that's pretty standard. Someone correct me if that's not typically the case with Dodges.

Default RE: Fuel Injector question...

I have found a number of web sites that provide calculators to determine the flow rate for vehicles. However, none of them advise you that the calculated value is the MAXIMUM flow rate. When using them I determined my 2001 Dodge Ram required 28 pound fuel injectors to get all of the horsepower out of the engine (Performance 360 that puts out 350 horsepower).

However, when I put the 28 lb injectors in my truck I found I was over fueled for low end performance (less than 2500 RPM), but I had great power in the 3000 to 4500 RPM range. As I use my truck for towing and not racing, the negative aspects of the new injectors greatly outweighed the positive aspects so I changed them back to the originals.

I still have the set of 8 for which I paid $300 for these from www.fiveomotorsports.com about a month ago. They have approx 700 miles on them. Willing to sacrifice for $150 just to get some of my money back.
