Default RE: #12 Ryan Newman - nascar charger

My 87 Dodge Diplomat has more aerodyamics then that thing. Man Dodge have screwed this up BIG TIME. What can they be possibly thinking? I would like to see the wind tunnel statistics.

If you all will look carefully, the nose is not actually crumpled, that is just the shadow of the person taking the picture on the bumper.

Yes, I realize that. I was referring to how the front bumper/fascia and grille area appears to be mashed flat when compared to the more sleek nose of the old Intrepid body. And the deeply recessed "headlight" area looks... weird. It looks like there's 2+ feet of sheetmetal IN FRONT of the hood, where it slopes down to the grille. Or maybe a better way to say it is that the hood looks very small when compared to the surface area of everything in front of it.

However there are no "foglight" decals or brake air ducts or anything on this particular car, so the lack of those details might add to the large-ish appearance of the front end.

It does slightly resemble the Monte Carlo nose, so hopefully the Charger can gain some downforce benefit like the Chevrolets already had.

In case no one realizes it, this will be the third time in 5 years that the Dodge teams have had to learn a completely new nose. The 2001 body was obviously brand new, then they changed the nose around 2003 for some reason... now they've got another completely new nose to deal with. And that's strange, because depending on how you look at it, they had better success with the original body back in 2001-2002... the #40 team (Sterling Marlin) was looking very good those 1st two years. I guess the best Dodge in 2003 and 2004 overall is probably #12 (Newman).

(I'm personally a fan of the #12, #40, and #42 as well... 2004 was a heartbreaker for #42 fans!)

The headlights are just decals. Nascar dictates the shape of the cars including the nose. The difference will be in the grille for brand identification.
