Default drop shank for towing

Okay so i decided to post this here to ask other racers what they do.

I have a 2004 ram 2500 hemi quad cab short bed and I have an 15 ft open car hauler that I tow my 93 dodge daytona on. I got the weight distribution from harbor freight and I know it is cheaper but it does the trick.

Th problem though is that the shank does not drop down enough. I can;t find a longer shank that matches up with the 3/4" bolt hole pattern of the weight distribution I have. Does anybody know of one that will match up?

Maybe I do not need a weight distribution setup? Maybe I should just get a drop bar? Maybe they make a drop bar that has a sway control bar ball mount attached to it?

I did tow with the trailer higher at the tongue and as you can see in the pic this part on the trailer got damaged
. Is this a big deal what part is this on the trailer? Thanks guys.
