The crown has been lost...

but the interesting part is that it was lost to an engine that shares the same original engine manufacturer (well, GM derived it from VMM at least).

I am going on a 3500 mile plus trip tomorrow. I will log the entire trip and post it here around Jan 1

I'm back!!! 6427km (3993mi) mostly highway 115kph - 130kph (71mph - 81mph) some city driving 50kph (31mph) average 69kph (43mph) average 10.9l/100km (21.5mpg). The fast highway speeds were not good for best mileage. The trip was on snow tires, again not good for best mileage and the last leg (Norwood Mass. - Grand Falls-Windsor Nl) was with a washer & dryer in the back, tarped in and holding the wind like a sail. 200km was also done in 4 wheel lock So all in all 21.5mpg (25.9mpg imp) is not bad.

Mike

PS: Just calculated actual fuel purchased, 6427km traveled, 650 liters burned, 10.11l/100km ( 23.26mpg us) (27.94mpg imp)

Not bad.

What's the cost of diesel up there? It's under $2 a US gallon at some stations in south Georgia, around $2.20 in Florida...

It ranged from ( $1.06CDN/lt) $2.83US/gal us to (.91CDN/lt) $2.43US/gal us. Now that the Us. dollar cost me $1.44Cdn, A gallon in Norwood at $2.00US/gal cost me $2.88Cdn

I think...
