i can not start the engine with the key i have to jump the wires from the starter why is it like that

the ignition switch could be brokein or else a wire broke goin from the ignition to the starter

it clicks but dont turn the starter over

well i would start by looking at all the wires comming from the started check to make sure they are tight and your ground is clean also check to see if any wire is broke

if that is not it then i would say that the solenoid on your starter is bad

the guy that replaced my engine also said something about a clip for my transmission cuase my dial aint going to drive or any other one can that be the problem

i would seriouley doubt if that would affect it in any way.does your truck go into gear at all or is just your indicator does not show what gear it is in

found out it was the netural safety switch after i replaced the starter and ing switch lol

yeah that sucks when u have to do that...as far as the inicator it is just a lil line behind your dash if you wanna fix it take the gauge cover off and you will see where it should connect my rc had that problem
