There are like 6 or 7 engine grounds. One of mine was loose/corroded, which is what prompted me to replace all of them with upgraded cables.

That's a possible solution, perhaps, but not THE solution to the 'fuse' error. Mine was caused by a bad engine ground. Most commonly it is caused by a bad interior dome bulb.

When my car overheated and the coolant wouldn't leave the overflow bottle, after taking a lot of stuff apart, all it needed was a new radiator cap. Go figure.

Was there not such a wire? One of the two wires coming off of the positive side of the battery goes directly to the starter from the factory. Any corrosion issues on the power wires, engine grounds...

If your engine seized, it would be turning over. Was the air filter wet (if it wasn't, water shouldn't have gotten into the engine)?
