So today I received my Blistein 5100's that I have been waiting so long for...Started with the drivers side...had absolutely no problems what so ever. I headed to the passenger side and began to loosen the bottom shock mount bolt and snap it broke. It broke right into the A-arm. There is absolutely nothing to grab onto and there is bolt simply inside the a arm. Has anyone run into this problem or know how to drill these out etc? Should I just take it to a shop and hope for the best?
I ended up buying a new bolt from Napa for 6.00 dollars...also bought a tap for 6 dollars size 14mm by 2 thread. Better than the 36.00 the dealer wanted for a new bolt...hopefully this works haha.
I bought a set of craftsman bolt removers, they are alright...
I have the bolt removers too, they work fine unless you round the damn thing out, but the Grab-Its are for broken bolts, you use one end to drill a hole in the shaft of the screw or bolt and flip it around and it will grab the insides of the hole and let you turn it out.
I've only had a few times where they wouldn't work and I've recommended them to a few guys who now swear by the things...
Ive broken mine too, wouldnt come out with a bit extractor...it was in there good...ended up drilling the old bolt out, then retapping the threads, and putting in a bolt from napa as well.
Got the passenger side shock in today. The ride quality is better than stock shocks, but I do not see a major difference between stock and the 5100's. Do you think it because I still have stock on the rears still?
