Default disassembly of np 231 d......

Hey guys I have looked but havent found much on actual disassembly and rebuilding of the np 231 transfer case. Only videos on youtube are jeeps. Looking for any help. I have a 2001 1500 with 268,000 miles. nothing comes apart easy LOL. Miracle truck as it sat in a field in Iowa for 2 years. Runs like a beast if only transfer case wasnt bad.

Thanks for any help.

I wish i could. The nut that holds the yoke on is not wanting to come off. I have sprayed it with pb, heated it with a torch and it wont come loose. This should have been an easy job....

Are you trying to take it off by hand, or do you have air tools? Usually, an impact wrench will zip 'em right off. Even an electric.

Ok i got it tore down and rebuilt. Now trying to reinstall.... I have a quarter inch gap between the transfer case and the transmission. Can't get it to slide on.... Bolts are through. Any ideas why it doesn't want to go on?
