Default Interior Noise

So this is the second 4th gen RAM 1500 that I've owned and I've had the same issue with both: somewhere around the passenger side A-pillar or door, a creak/squeak occurs especially when cold outside and drives me absolutely crazy. Has anyone else had this issue? If so, how did you get rid of it? I really don't want to pay a dealer to track down a squeak...

Beside the extra interior noises, I absolutely love the truck and have had very minor issues, if any.

Thanks in advance.

Hi SeanTG84,
I may have found a Technical Service Bulletin that is relevant to your concern:

NUMBER: 23-024-11
GROUP: Body
DATE: July 12, 2011
SUBJECT:
Whistle And/Or High Pitch Windnoise At Door Near Windshield A-Pillar
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Customer may experience whistle and/or high pitch windnoise at door near windshield
A-pillar.

Your certified dealer will be able to best assess if this is a relevant bulletin to your vehicle and if any future steps are necessary. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

How do I go about following up with the dealer? I don't want to get stuck paying a bunch if it is a known problem or they go on a wild goose hunt.

Saying that, I'm not 100% sure it is the same issue or not. It's definitely coming from the A-pillar area and as I said, this is now my 2nd truck with the issue; however, mine's more of a cracking or creaking sound going over bumps and what not. Not so much a whistle. My other truck was the exact same. Drives me nuts. Thanks for the help!

Hi SeanTG84,
To check on this further, you can provide your dealer with the TSB number, 23-024-11 and your VIN number. The dealer can then determine if the TSB applies to your VIN, and also assess if you have the symptoms present for the TSB to do the repair. I’m happy to assist you in this if needed.
