Help! - New Radio and FM/AM radio signal is no good
Hey guys -
I have a 2008 dakota and just changed out the factory radio with a new jensen vx7022 - i used the expensive harness adapter Axxess XSVI-6522-NAV and everything works great (nav, backup camera, etc) except for the FM/AM radio signal. It is barely coming in stations that were super strong before. I did buy the special antenna adapter and it is plugged all the way in. No idea what the hell is going on but its driving me crazy since that should be the simplest and easiest part of the radio swap.
Hopefully someone has an anwser or idea for me...
Thanks,
John

What adapter did you use? I just did mine over the Christmas break and used the 40-cr10 that critchfield suggested. I had no problems at all.
I used the 6502 nav harness and you do have to initialize it, but that doesn't sound like your issue if the radio powers up. Did you have good signal with your original radio? If so the only thing I can think of is a bad antenna adapter. I should state that mine is a 2005, not sure if the antennas were different.

Hey Guys -
So i went and bought both the metra 40-EU10 antenna adapter from amazon with the whole car kit and then went to best buy and they sold me the 40-cr10 which def doesnt fit. Makes no sense what so ever. The 40-EU10 connects and fits but doesnt work.
I tired a trick to test the head unit and stuck a piece of copper wire into the back of the antenna port and FM/AM came in instantly.
It doesnt make sense to me at all unless the 40-EU10 adapter i got from amazon is no good or there's more to the dodge factory antenna.

So, after reading some reviews on crutchfeild for the 40-EU10, it seems many have had trouble with that connector. Some have had to force the connections together, some have said they had to modify the connector. May be helpful to read some of those reviews.

Solved it.
Hey guys so after driving myself crazy trying to figure this out I decided to get a second EU-10 antenna adapter from another company and try that. Driving to 3 different best buys (said in stock) the last one finally had it but it wasnt on the shelf - they had to find it in the back.
Plugged it in and it f'ing worked perfect!
I compared the one I got from Amazon and Best Buy and they are exactly the same except the wire on the Best Buy is noticeably seemed thicker.
This is the kit/vendor NOT TO BUY from Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Best Buy one that works - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/metra-an...?skuId=4642658
Hope that helps someone - i wasted a week and probably 10x in and out with this junk from Amazon. FYI both have stickers made in China. So there you go.
