Default Grinding transmission.

Got an 01 kota the other day. The transmission will sometimes grind in reverse and go nowhere. I'll put it in park or nuetral and back to reverse and it's fine. No slipping. Just not catching fully I think. 132k on the odo. What could be the problem. How do I did it?

Check the fluid level and check the linkages.

More thank likely the linkage. They're really hard to set perfectly. I just did a trans swap on my Dak and in order to get it into D I have to move the gear shift pretty hard into place for everything to catch. You can adjust the cable from a ring right under the brake booster. If you have a manual for your truck it will have a picture and show you right where it is.
