Unhappy Screeching front brakes for 2nd gen dakota

Hi, guys, i 've changed my front disc brake pads and they started to produce smoke and smell bad. Now i ve bought a new set together with new discs, the smoke stopped and the smell stopped however, now they are doing a very loud screeching noise. Can anyone help me please, I need the truck for next week and cant i dont want to risk driving it ?

Al the time or just when stopping? Did you buy the correct pads? Did you grease the slide pins? Are the shims installed?

Once you were done, did you clean the rotors with brake cleaner? Sometimes grease from the job gets on them and burns off. The screeching, might it be heat shield touching somewhere?

It's not uncommon for brakes to smell like they're burning or make smoke even if everything is clean either when they're bedding in.
