Default 318 swap

i got a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 5 speed, rare but fun truck. It's got the 4.7 in it. I could make power out of the motor but I'd have to pull it and do a lot of work to it and spend a lot of money. Just wondering what's the thoughts on a 318 swap and would it be an easy swap. I know the motor would bolt to a nv3500 trans

The 318 will bolt into the truck since it's the same family as the 360, but that's where the easy part ends. You say you have a 5sp, but is that manual or auto? The electronics for the 4.7 are more closely related to the 5.7 than the old magnum engines. You will spend some time and even more money getting everything to work correctly.

Um, no, I don't think the magnum motor uses the same bellhousing bolt pattern as the 4.7, and I don't think the NV3500 has a removable bellhousing either.......
