Open the hood. Find the back right corner of the plastic cover on the top of the engine. It's right there just aft and right of the vacuum tree. I have the same van and engine.

well it wasn't the map sensor. The van is jerky when driven and backfires through the exhaust manifold and doesn't wan to stay started unless foot is on gas paddle. Any suggestions?

Usually a rich air fuel mixture. Read through the exhaust backfire portion towards the middle: https://www.2carpros.com/articles/en...-while-running
