shorted out alternator while getting a jump, now wont start, no click
ram van 1985 b250 5.2L
i was installing a new alternator and my engine was dying every time i connected these 2 small plugs on the alternator. I my kept getting sparks and while i was getting a jump i shorted something out, I heard a loud pop and saw some smoke and smelled burning.
now my engine will not turn over or even click, I have looked really hard for a burned out fuse or melted wires/fuses, but can not find where the smoke came from, i tested the starter and it works great.
do you think my burnt wires/fuses are hidden behind something?
thank you so much for this dodge forum. you guys rock
