Not mine but this poster makes some pretty good points. Btw, I will be shocked if Georgia beats Osu this year.

Why the SEC is one of the worst conferences

The only reason people argue that it is the best conference is because of their "tough conference schedule" but maybe they are all just mediocre teams to begin with. The fact that they are best teams is just some people's opinion because they certainly can't prove it on the field. If they were not give high RPI's prior to playing a game the conference would be awful.

The entire conference has only scheduled 2 top 25 teams out of conference.

Who on the OOC is going to prove they are an elite conference? Will wins against: Fla International x2 , N Texas, Chattanooga, Missouri St, E. Michigan, Troy x2, Louisiana Tech x2 , Ball St, Furman, Tenn Tech, Charleston So. , Miami (OH), Louisiana Monroe, E. Kentucky, Louisiana Lafayette, Tulane, Memphis, SE Louisiana, Jackson St, Middle Tenn, Ohio, W. Kentucky, Army, and W. Carolina - vault them up to elite status???

Outside of Georgia who has both top 25 teams and Arizona St the rest of the conference is a joke - where they used to schedule 1 patsy now most of the SEC teams have 3 pathetic games.

Who are the other big games?

Texas A&M

Washington - heck DIAA JMU is ranked higher

W. Virginia

Louisville - voted 2nd to last in the BE

UCLA

Thank god GT is around as it has 3 SEC schools on its schedule

And take away the Rival Games

Georgia vs GT

USC vs Clemson

Kentucky vs Louisville

Florida vs FSU - surprised they haven't replaced that with Fla Atlantic yet

*for a supposed #1 team their schedule is a freaking joke like the rest of the SEC

The SEC known as the best conference for proving that in BOWL games. Look at the last THREE national championships. Look at the BCS games record. The SEC is 12-5, while the next best conference has only 9 wins and it's not the 7-9 Big 12!

Or how about this big time stat: The SEC is 5-0 in BCS national championship games. 5 out of 11 BCS national championships. Big 12? 2-4. Pac-10? 1-1. Big 10, Big East, ACC? 1-2. Don't forget about LSU being screwed as well.

SEC teams PROVE that they are the top teams in the country while in the post season. This is why SEC teams are considered great every year. Plus, you have experts evaluate these teams. Its not like a bunch of idiots just say a teams good and that's the only reason. He's using ONE year's schedule to go against the entire existence of the SEC? Really? LOL Yeah, the OCC schedules aren't too tough THIS year...

Comparing RANKED FSU to FAU? Are you kidding me? Wait til FSU is back to their glory. Just because some teams aren't good now, doesn't mean they weren't or aren't going to be good again. Those 3 BCS national championship appearences by the ACC. Yeah, those were because of that "weak" team that Florida plays... FSU...

Florida's schedule is ALWAYS amongst the toughest schedules in the country. It's no secret that this year, it's going to be easy. FINALLY, a schedule that isn't tough for Florida.

I normally don't respond to idiots like that, but he is talking out of his ass and ignoring a whole bunch of facts. Anyone who falls for that is down right biased or slow. Some people shouldn't be on the internet. LOL

Please tell me this was on Scout or Rivals. I would love to copy and paste this, but make it a bit nicer.

Well, the poster does make a valid point about one thing....if teams were not ranked prior to say week 6 of the season...how many of the SEC teams would be ranked at all? Or for that matter, any other conference....

Chase, I'm not attacking Florida or the SEC at all in that comment btw..

However, I will say that I've always felt the teams who are 5-0, 6-0, 7-0 are the ones who should be ranked 1-25....and after that, you base it on whatever formula you want.... I don't care who you are, what conference your in, you go 12-0, you should be in a title game....

It's bloody ridiculous that an undefeated team doesn't play for a title...period.

I know you're not "attacking" the SEC. I don't care if someone wants to down the SEC, as long as it makes sense. The fact that this guy makes half of a point, doesn't validate his words to me, lol.

I bolded some keys words up there. With the current formula, all teams have to be evaluated eventually, or you would never have solid rankings. Also, teams aren't just ranked by who they beat or lose to. They are ranked by who the teams they play lose to or beat as well. It all works itself out. This schedule mess is just another thing for people to cry about.

The people that matter know it's tough to get out of the SEC.

I really, really, really wish we had playoffs. Then this whole schedule crying game wouldn't matter.

That was actually taken off Espn.com. Anyone who says that the Sec is not good it either biased or stupid. I'm curious to see who the team of the decade goes to and it really comes down to this year. Should Florida, Oklahoma, or Usc win the NC this year then that would probably seal it for them. It's strange to think that Oklahoma and Florida have the exact same bowl record this decade. Many people don't realize that.

That is correct. However, the stats below are the only meaningful ones...

Oklahoma is 1-3 in Championship games this decade while Florida is 2-0.

Sorry if I come off as an ass, but that crap gets to me.

He should go question the ACC or Pac-10 or something.
