Default Biggest upset in history?

Well, Charleston Southern has been installed as a 73 point underdog this Saturday at #1 ranked Florida. This means if they win, it will be statistically the largest upset in history.

OK, I'm going out on a limb here: Charleston Southern - OUTRIGHT!!!

NOT!!! But I don't think Florida is gonna cover, either, they can, but Meyer won't let it happen. Tebo and the rest of the first stringers will be watching the game before the second quarter is over...

spreads aren't exactly viable material for considering upsets....

Watching Appalachian State beat Michigan St is an upset....watching Stanford beat USC is an upset... watching Navy beat Notre Dame for the first time in almost 50 years is an upset....

If little teams ever want to be considered for bowl games or higher divisions, they have to be able to play big time teams. But this ain't Michigan.

I doubt Florida will cover the 73 points. Not because they can't but I think Meyer takes the foot off the gas after halftime. I remember OU being up 77-0 vs. Texas A&M in the 3rd qtr. a few years back. That 4th qtr. was awful to watch because OU was trying not to move the ball with their 3rd team but still where. Ended up taking a knee twice inside the 5 to keep from scoring. That was brutal.

I thought Iowa knocking off Penn State to take them out of National Title talks was a pretty huge upset in and of itself. However, if some team like Charleston Southern (a team most people probably haven't even heard of) managed to knock of the defending national champions that would be the biggest upset in the history of college football hands down.

A team like iowa beating psu was a big deal but nothing like a team losing to a d2 team (like michigan/app st).

I wouldn't call a no name team winning an early game against the previous champs the biggest upset ever...however say that it was 10 games into a perfect season and a championship-running team lost to a school like that, then I would call it the biggest upset ever.

Now that its a few years past the um-app st game has become less of a shock considering how terrible the dickrod-led wolverines have proven to be..
