Facebook and twitter are both absolutely pointless on a console as far as I'm concerned (Twitter especially, everyone really wants to read "gues wat im goin 2 c a nu mvie 2nite lik omg"). 140 character limit, good job let's encourage people to type like retards... Both involve typing, something that's horrible to use a controller for. Not to mention with both already on computers and mobile phones I don't see a reason to have them on the console. Last.fm on the other hand is a great idea, easy way to listen to it on your living room sound system.

Not true, I have a facebook and I used to use it, I don't see the big deal. I stay in touch with friends through phone, aim, or actually hanging out with them. For the chat pad why on earth would I want a tiny crappy keyboard for my game console that's one room away from my PC with a real keyboard? Especially when said console has voice chat.
I learn just fine, you act as if I don't know what facebook is or how it works. Just because I don't see the same value in it you do doesn't mean I'm 'unlearned'.
There is so many more reasons to have a chat pad or USB keyboard than just a twitter update... have you ever had to punch in a promo code for pre-order stuff? it sucks.
the chat pads are cheap and actually work really good. if you used a cell with qwerty, you better get a keyboard for that too...
I don't understand why anyone would rather access it on their console than their computer where the interface works a lot better for the layout and purpose of the site. Chatpad or no chatpad what would you rather type and navigate a web page on? It's simply faster and easier with a mouse and keyboard.
