The only handgun that i own currently is a S&W Model 629 44 mag 8 3/8 barrel with a red dot scope. I love the damn thing, its a little bulky to carry around with shoulder holster which is no big deal for me. Everytime I look at it i smile a bit, lol

well my favorite is kind of a tie....I have a S&W M&P .40 with a green laser underslung mount and a Ruger .357 revolver. Reason i like the revolver is it never fails to fire, dead accurate at 30yds and my dad passed in on to me when he passed away....as for the .40, well....what can i say, it shoots like a dream, it's light to carry and looks badass with the laser on it lol....here's a pic of it without the laser:
I haven't owned one, but having shot one, the Colt M1991 45 ACP. It looks and feels exactly like the M1911, but it has a hammer safety so you don't get shot, if you drop it. Runner up is the Taurus 357 Magnum Police Model. Best balanced gun I've ever shot. Mine has the 7" barrel and (by a friend, not me) taken down a 500 # black bear.

My favorites are the HK USPs and Sig P22X's. They're both tested through some crazy number of rounds and basically be put through anything and still shoot great. Some of the best guns ever made. But they're pricey and I don't plan on abusing my guns like that and don't want to spend that much cash.
So, I carry a Taurus PT145 Millenium Pro w/ laser. I also should be getting a Desert Eagle .45 soon. (It's not as big, shoots great, feels great, and still says Desert Eagle) and a Beretta 92FS b/c it's a classic and is easy to shoot & clean.
I've got an opportunity to get a S&W MP.45, new in the box, for $525, thinking about it. They guy that ordered it from my club, paid a $100 deposit and never showed, doesn't return calls, nuthin. So they just put it up for sale for the wholesale price we get as club members, less the deposit the other guy paid.
I have had my sights on a Springfield XD .45, but I'm told there is a 4 month back order on them now, and it would cost me a hell of a lot more for the XD, and this Smith is already here...
Anybody have any input on the Smith? I know the price is unbeatable. I don't really have the cash to spend on it, but for this kinda deal, I'm considering taking the $ out of my retirement fund...
