Our school had a major zero tolerance policy. For the most part no one ever really got into with each other, but if they ever did, we made sure that it was OFF of school property.
I have some younger "friends" that are seniors in high school this year, and about two months ago, two of them got suspended from school over a fight that didnt even happen on school grounds, or during a school day. I for one think that is total bull chit.

On the gun thing, our school had about 200 kids in it when I started, and when I graduated there were just over 500. There were guns on campus ever single day.
It was nothing to walk out to the student parking lot and see at least four or five rifles hanging in the back window. We were all pretty straight laced for the most part, but we did know how to have fun.

On the not being mentally capable of operating a vehicle at 16, I kinda blow hot and cold. I did most of my stupid chit before 16, so I guess that has a lot to do with it.
I see these 16 year old little girls driving around with a cell phone jammed up their ear, and I shake my head, but I also see the safe drivers around too.
I guess a fair change would possibly be a stricter driving examination.
There are applications out there that can be hooked up to a vehicle and that car can be tracked. Why couldn't there be an instance where all 16 year old kids had to have this hooked up to their vehicles? They speed, they loose their license. They make any kind of driver error, they lose their license. See my point?

I do plenty of stupid **** in my truck, and bike. But believe it or not I keep it controlled. The post about the girls on cellphones rings very true. The majority of girls at school have been at fault for a wreck because of eating, phone, makeup, hair, etc. (or just because women can't drive)

I'm with Pyro I'm a longtime NRA member and every time some punk does sh!t like this it's more ammo for the gun haters. We have enough problems without punk kids doing kid stuff with adult tools. LOCK HIS ASS UP he IS guilty of ASSUALT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON. Had the other kid had the wherewithal and desire he could have responded with deadly force and pleaded self defense. (and the same liberal types who want to let this little thug slide would want to CRUCIFY his ass) If someone did this to me he WOULD die.

I'm 1000% for guns. At 16 I already have lifetime hunting and fishing, and a lifetime membership with the NRA.

The kid and his parents should be prosecuted to full extent of the law. I cases like this the penalty needs to be harsh to hopefully prevent it from happening again. I swear, kid's values are getting worse and worse every day.

Its Robbery 1st. Kid should be prosecuted for it along with CCW. I am a PO and love guns and believe every legal citizen should be able to get a CCW and believe states should have strict qualifications for CCW holders.

My wife is a teacher and I am a big fan of certain teachers being able to carry a pistol in the schools. Obviously carry it concealed. I think that the teachers with the gun should be required to qualify twice a year to prove markmanship and be required to learn tactical operations as well as know how to engage a threat.

Reality is that most school shootings are over before we can arrive. I would sacrifice one teacher for several students.

When you look at 99% of our recent school shootings the shooter committs suicide when faced with an agressor. These kids don't like the threat of being engaged. Police will engage the targets without hesitation becasue we are trained to do it and know that we are saving lives.

I would hope that some teachers could do the same.
