For those who have a winch, do you feel like someone might steal it? For me with the hitch plate, it leaves the winch mounting bolts easily accessible. I thought about welding them on but thats a little to permit.

Next I just need to get a Pull Pal. Or the Smittybilt version which is $150 compared to $500. But one review online tested it and it acted like a plow more than an anchor.

There's an old trick you can use so you don't need a pull pal, just carry a shovel. If you find yourself without an anchor point just dig a T with the bottom pointing toward your truck, take your spare tire, attach the winch to the rim and throw it into the top of the T-pit. It's not quick or pretty but if there's no other way it'll work.

A quick Google search this is the best way to lock up the mounting bolts. Easy to make too. http://www.misch4x4.com/winch_lock.html Are there any other kind of locks? I thought of a special bolts like wheel locks style but don't know where to get some.

Cool! Thats a good Idea! I thought of taking some thick tube and just hammering it in at an angle or something. No clue if that would work.
