You'll be the first to find out. I don't know if you will find what you're looking for as far as high strength internals.

The 3.7L bore is the same as the 4.7 so maybe you can find forged pistons?

In '08 the new 4.7 got stronger rods, but the 3.7 has a longer stroke. Maybe you could use the stronger rods and overcome the loss of compression with the supercharger?

(I'm not a engine builder by any means.)

And who gives a sht about the sound. If it makes enough power it will sound just fine. A Chevy magazine built a pretty solid 4.3L V6 using aftermarket smallblock V8 parts, but we don't have an aftermarket anything like that.

The 3.7L has been used in Daks, Liberties, base Rams, Durangos and Grand Cherokees since 2002. It got some improvements in 2005.

The Getrag 238 (aka 6MTI520) 6 speed trans was introduced for 2005+ Dakotas and 1500 Rams with the 3.7 and 4.7L motors.

Wranglers have a 3.8L (completely unrelated to the 3.7) with a different 6 speed manual.

I drive an '07 Dakota, and it gets around just fine. Not a barn burner but you learn to get the most out of it.
