Glad you are here. I have been looking for a hood. Something different than the SRT hood that everyone has.
I had a chance to browse your site and you have alot of things I will be interested in down the road but right now, lets talk hoods.
There are 2 hoods that I like from your site. The Ram Air hood, P/N # ED-104853 and the Challenger Hood, P/N # ED-104854.
2 questions. First, are you able to have the hoods painted prior to shipping and if so what would the charges? Second, what kind of discount are you offering for DF members or do I have to wait until you post up something down the road?
I also need to know if either or both of these hoods are functional to the airbox. If you can get a picture of the underside of the hoods from the MFG that would be great.
Ohhhhh, I have already been through the entire site. I am very impressed with what you have and most of the pricing that you offer. There are a few other things that I am interested in, but first is the hood, the comes a supercharger...
Yes, that is a nice hood. It says that it is is functional as far as letting air in, but it does not say where the air goes. engine top, downflow to headers area, or intake box? Can you find that out for me please. I want one that goes to the airbox, so it will have to have ports directing air there. I will also need to know if it can be painted prior to shipping.
just tossing this out, but Ram air is usually to the air box. I know the RK sports for the Cavaliers go there... (no, its not mine, but my little brothers friend is a bigtime J-body freak)
Tell that to the other vendors that list them as ram air and yet they are not...
Most of them are for cosmetic use only, or they have the opening cut out, but there is no porting for air flow to ANYWHERE. It would just flow air, water, and dirt over the top of the engine area. Those are the hoods that say "FOR OFFROAD USE ONLY". I bought one of those and sent it back.
Trufiber, so far, is the only MFG that makes a functional hood. They are my last resort because I want something different than the SRT hood and trufiber has just as many horror stories as good stories about their products and customer service.
So if this last hood IS functional to the box with the proper porting, then CarId is going to be put to the test... LOL!!!!
