Maybe a mud tire this time? 96 dakota 2wd
hey guys,
I've got a 96 dakota 2wd 5.2L CC auto sitting at stock height.
Ive been running 255/60/15 just regular ol' street tires. And the time is getting close for another set. But i was thinking changing the look and maybe getting a mud tire.
Now as silly as it may sound, it will pretty much be just for looks. the most off-road it sees is when I take the four wheeler out. Even then it's usually only about 1/8th mile of gravel/sandy/dirt road. My current tires handle it just fine. Heck, even my little civic could manage that stretch.
I had 235/75/15 AT's before. (might have been 70's but i'm pretty sure they were 75's) they rubbed on the frame a tiny bit at full turn but overall fit good. I had those AT's on stock rims though. and my current wheels are offset out a good bit. i've had these wheels for going on 6 years now. the company isnt around anymore. i think ultra bought them out. lol
So, to the point. I've thought about a 235/75/15 mud tire on my current wheels. but I'm not sure about fitment with these deep rims. What do you guys think?
the wheels are 15x8 with i think a -19 offset. They were made by Sport Metal.

the offset will take the tires out away from the frame so they wont rub on it. the fender maybe but idk. and its 2x4 and looks a little lowered mud tires is a no go. get a set of like 305 50 15 race tires or slicks if you can get away with it out there. also if you could let me know where and how much you for the rims for im looking for a set of offset rims that are 6 x 4.5 and a -15 or better offset.
