Let’s just state outright that we do not endorse the disabling of your vehicle’s safety devices—they’re included for a reason. That being said, we do pride ourselves in providing Dodge Ram drivers on how to do just about anything and everything they want to their car. In this instance, this includes disabling the seat belt alarm. Some people find it annoying to constantly listen to it, while others are stuck in a scenario where it’s malfunctioning. Note

In order for these steps to work, they must be completed withing the first 60 seconds of the ignition switch being turned to the "on" position.

Step 1 – Close all the doors

Leave the key in the ignition switch in any position except the "on" one. Now, buckle the driver’s seat belt.

Step 2 – Turn the ignition switch on

After turning the ignition switch on, wait for the seat belt warning light to turn off.

Step 3 – Buckle and un-buckle

Buckle and un-buckle the seat belt three times. This must be done within 60 seconds of starting the vehicle, and the buckling-unbuckling three times must be done within a span of 10 seconds, ending with the belt buckled.

Step 4 – Turn the engine off

A single chime will go off. This signifies you have successfully reprogrammed the seat belt alarm.
