I've been hearing from some pretty credible sources (people i trust) and theyve been saying Dodge might be putting a obviously small diesel into the 1500's next year. Its a diesel none the less. but what have y'all heard about it? or have you heard anything at all?
DC and Cummins have both been working on this since mid 04. there are two diesel power plants that I know of that could appear in the 1500's possably sometime in 09. one is a V6 displacing 4.6L and a V8 displacing 5.6L. the V8 is supposed to have power numbers approaching 300hp and 550lbft. the V6 is rated somewhere around 250hp and 460tq.

it is all about wheel base. . .the 3/4 ton trucks have a minimum wheelbase that doesnt include a RCSB model.
but that doesnt mean that you cannot have a diesel in your RCSB. . .Ive seen a nicely massaged 12 valve stuffed under the hood of a 05 2wd RCSB. . .and man would that thing scoot.

I agree....i think they should do it. that would scoot and it makes it possible to have a diesel without the wide hips or paying the price for a 2500, though I love the 2500 and 3500 series...dont get me wrong.
I dont have training wheels. . .however a solid axel up front is more stirdy than the IDF the 1500's have.
