RE: Happy and Sad at the same time
Well.. now you know why they were selling a car with 4000 miles on it lol Someone apparently bought it and didn't want it due to issues.. Always be wary when buying cars with low mileage but withhigh enough mileage to be considered used by someone for a short while. Well could be worse.. could have needed an engine or transmission.. at least they should fix that and that should (Hopefully) be the end of it.
That really sucks though.. I went through a few issues with my car too (And still am) and it had 0 miles on it.. it really does kill the new car buzz..
My Past issues were:
1) Multiple scratches down the side of the car due to the dealer being careless and taking off the protective plastic before it needed to be removed.. then letting an old man think he could buy the car because it wasn't in their books yet so his keys scratched the whole side of the car.. It was delivered to me like that.. Had to buff them out myself..
3) Junk left in the car on delivery, coke cans thrown on the floor, assorted garbage on the seats like food wrappers..
4) Emergency brake cable was disconnected from the rear caliper arm and sending a loud ticking sound up the cable into the center console.. Fixed that myself too.. Took a while to track down too cause the center console is no where near the rear tire.. lol(I am afraid what the dealer will do to the car if I leave it with them)
Current issues are:
1) Assorted radio issues, frequently locks up, isn't compatible with my new phone.. etc..
2) Lifter tick on startup for 2 minutes..
3) Software controlled speed limitation of 113mph (Not really an issue as its normalbut it pisses me off)
4) Having to over inflate my tires in the winter to avoid the low tire pressure sensor from tripping. (Just a stupid nuisance since whenever I take it to the dealer they deflate the tires back down.. when its still within the recommended tire pressure levels)
5) Crappy paint that scratches very easily and the car wasn't fully painted in multiple spots..
These are all pretty minor but they add up and piss you off when you buy a new car expecting everything to be perfect and smooth.. But then again I didn't pay $40,000 for the car so I guess you get what you pay for.. and in comparison with a lot of other cars in its class the Avenger offers quite a lot of features that aren't offered in some more expensive cars..
