Default Transmission

Is the tranny in the 09 different than those in the 3rd gen rams because that is one place dodge should have improved?

Supposedly not. It's the same 5 speed as before which is unfortunate, as I agree with you. Even though the tranny seems to have worked really well for Dodge I'd rather have a true 5 or 6 speed.

I wonder when that sequencial clutch 6 speed will be available? Or if there are adapter kits to bolt on the heavy duty 6 speed? That would be kinda' cool.

yea they shoulda made it a real truck and taken away the auto period. lol. considering that the 4.7L only puts out like 30 less hp and has the six speed option id take the 4.7L every time. and i'd be willing to bet on a dyno the 4.7l six speed puts out more than a hemi with auto. just due to the parasitic loss from the auto.
