Well apparently its supposed to help NASCAR go back to its roots. NASCAR hasn't said not to throw any helmets since this 15k offer came out. At most it would be fining the president of the Texas motor speedway for promoting it.
Texas Motor Speedway president Eddie Gossage wants NASCAR to regain it’s “rebel-ness”. So, he is offering a reward. Said the Texan Bad-Ass: “I’m offering $15,000 for any helmet thrown by a Cup series driver during a race between now and the April 6 Samsung 500, (at TMS). . . . I’ve seen some helmets thrown during a race and never have they injured anyone or damaged another driver’s car. We’ll see what happens.” The helmet must be thrown on the track during competition. . . .
I just don't get nascar... It is the most boring thing to watch, aside from golf. and doesnt seem too require that much skill. With enough practice any asshole can make left turns for 3 hours. The course is banked, they only race in prestine weather. Then only thing impressive about nascar is the engine builders.
(now i put flamesuit on)
