Default vents in trunk?

Does anyone know if i can seal up the vents in the trunk of my 02 intrepid? there are two of them one behind the driverside tail light and the other on pass side behind the wheel well I keep getting a trunk full of dust and would like to seal them off. Thanks for the help.

you can but i wouldn't recommend it. those are vents to equalize air pressure in the cabin
