An end of an era,
they knew what they were doing though, they just built a huge new shop right in mooresville with the rest of the racing riff-raff.
Richard's probably been thinking of selling for awhile.

Yeah, that's true. And they don't have the new hottness. Labonte is getting old, Kyle is way to Old and the family doesn't seem as interested as they used to be.
Adam was their best chance and prospect, and he was taken from them tragically. It is sad though, at least Richard still kept a large interest for himself, so he's not totally out of the picture.

The cost of racing in the cup and nationwide series is getting out of hand. It takes more than just sponsorship dollars to keep a team going and be competitive. You would not believe what kind of money these teams spend everyday. It looks like most teams are going the investor route to keep afloat. Something needs to change in the future to keep costs down or the cup series will price itself out of business. Multi multi million dollar sponsors are just not there anymore. Red

RE: Petty'
I think Rosch spends like 75 million a year or so... and I know Dodge spreads between 50-100mill to all their teams. But just imagine being a petty... all the cheerios and lucky charms you could eat. mmmmmmmmmmmmm.
