Default Air Conditioner on 93 Dakota V8

I replaced the condenser on my truck today and we started to recharge the A/C unit and the compressor will not turn on, i hooked it up straight to the battery and it worked and we then finished filling up the system and i still cannot get it to turn on. The connector has 12-13 volts but then on the compressor side of the connector it only has .12 volts once it is hooked up. Also what fuse does the A/C run off because i believe i just blew it. does anyone have any idea what is wrong? please help.

thanks in advance

Doesnt the fuse block tell you what fuses are what ? Very bad idea jumping and filling the compressor that way. And when you did connect it to the battery directly did you remove the plug first?

Check the relay, swap it with a known good one (like the starter relay) if the truck won't start, it's a bad relay causing the a/c not to turn on. If the truck does start, turn it off and try again and again just to make sure it's not an intermittent thing. I just went thru this with my '92
