I have a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi. I am planning to get a new exhaust system next week and wondering what everyone on the forum thinks.
I am mostly looking for performance and with a little bit of sound.
I am looking at getting dual exhaust, andthe guy at the muffler shop suggested I get2 Flowmaster 50's mufflers installed would be perfect for the Hemi's.I would have both of the pipes will exit behind the passanger rear wheel with Chrome tips. They said they can do all this for $500.
What do you think about this? Or should I go with another muffler like Magnaflow?
FYI, I will be getting an CAI, I am wondering which one to get. The K&N one for $220, or spend an additional $150 or so for the RamHammer one. Thoughts on this as well?
Thank you for your input.

you have the MDS so i dont know if it is goin to bother you when it kicks in because it souns like s#!t it bother me so i just put a MAGNAFLOW and with CAI i got from airram.com it made a good combination
I agree, Magnaflow made more power on my Ford that I had.
I have only a OutlawPower CAI so I couldn't say about the others, but you don't want the open filter type. Find one that brings in cooler outside air.

get the flowmaster 44 or 40. had the 50 and its not that much louder than stock. ima flowmaster k&n guy....its sorta like addidas and nike...everyone has an opinon on different ones. i have heard ramhammer was good... but its up to you. i love my stuff...great sound and power
you're not going to do much better for power than magnaflow, if at all. that isn't opinion. flowmasters have been infamous for having relatively restricting exhausts. it'll be better than stock, but not near what magnaflow can get you. and with a great (not loud/obnoxious) sound.
for CAI, ramhammer seems to be the winner as far as bang, but the clear loser for buck. K&N CAIs are not too much better than K&N drop in filters, and the drop in will pay for itself rather quickley when you just recharge instead of buying a new filter. i'd ballpark about 15-18 top end hp with hammer, and about 4-7 with drop in. Ramhammer for most Bang, K&N drop in for most bang for buck. if 10 top end hp is important to you, drop the extra $300. but I'd much rather put an e-fan on it than get the hammer. oh, and the ramhammer is supposedly really loud (say some reveiews). just a heads up.
pm raiderjay06. he has the ram hammer and loves it. it seems to me, if your looking for performance, go with the ramhammer. and for exhaust, flowmaster is going to give you nice sound, but as feejay said, its very restrictive. as far as ive seen, without spending a lot of money for a corsa or something like that, magnaflow seems to blow other systems out of the water performance wise, yet still has a nice tone, but not very loud
