currently running 315/70R17 (35x12.50R17) BFGs ATs on stock rims and these are a rated load range "D" tire. Too SOFT a tire and wares too soon. I am trying to find the same size tire but in a load range "E". The size is great and computer is already calibrated to this size and didn't want to change the rim size from a 17 to 18 or 20. Any help appreciated. Oh yeah, got my ATS tranny 2 weeks ago instaled by Rays down in Houston.Those guys did a truely professional installation in about 5 hours.

the 17" 35's are not E rated... the 18" ones are though. I have the pro comp xtreme at's and currenlty have over 75k miles on them. they still have plenty of tread, last winter (about 10k miles back) I did a wet pavement brake check and they did awesome, no slipping, gripped well and stopped the truck as expected.
The downside for you is they dont come in an e rated tire that size....
you would have to do a leveling kit minimum, lots of guys run around on 35's with just the leveling kit. there is a diy writeup linked at the top for the install... it's easy.
If your hauling any type of weight, don't go with D rate tires they wear way too fast. Had the Toyo's 285x70x17D. I barely got 32K miles out of them. They are good tires and the wear was even_good, just to expensive for the amount of miles you get out of them. Go with the E rated ones.[sm=icon_cheers.gif]

Hey I could do that! Which spacers would you suggest or springs? Or should I go with the torsion bar leveling kit? If I do that it would cost more and someone else would have to install that. Wouldn't the spacers sag over time?
I'm assuming your truck is a 4x4 here since your asking about 35's... the spacers will not sag... get revtech spacers... they are metal ones and wont sag (they cant) or any other metal spacer will do it.
not sure why your mentioning the torsion bar leveling... if your truck is a 2500/3500 4x4, you have a solid front axle and have coils up front. installing the spacers is easy provided you have the right tools.

If the overall diameter specs of my current 17 inch BFGs is 34.5 then the overall diameter specs for the 18 inch BFGs are 33.7 then they should fit with the leveling kit?

huh? on my truck? I have 33's... 325-60-18's, pro comp xtreme AT's. 77k miles on them, still holding strong with lots of tread left. I keep saying I think they have 10k miles or so left in them but they just keep going & going. I have an extra set I picked up used that are near new (still have the injection knobbies on them) waiting to go on...
if you have 17" bfg's that are 34.5 w/o a leveling kit then the 18" bfg's at 33.7 will fit better... the overall diameter being smaller will give you an extra 3/4" of room. I'd still get the leveling kit...
