Default Cruise Control not working

I was driving on the interstate yesterday and the cruise was working fine. Stopped for about an hour and when I returned, the cruise would not work. The green cruise light will not come on and cruise doesnt work. I cannot find any fuses labeled for the cruise in the dash or in the PDC.

Any ideas?

Read some other forums and it talked about a clockspring.
What is this?

Thanks

Have you checked for a vacuum leak? There are a bunch of forum threads relating to vacuum leaks/check valves, etc that fail (crack, fall apart, etc) that will prevent it from working. Also there is a cruise control solenoid under the battery that you can check to see if all the vacuum/electrical connections are good.

There's a fuse and a relay I think. And then there's vacuum.

i for 1 agree that it would be your clock spring as you are not getting any electrical signal. i also had the airbag light and the new clock spring fixed all. pulled the old spring apart and was cracked right through all 5 wires. not hard to replace it, is just behind the streering wheel and can be done by yourself if you go to the merry christmas guys thread and download the manual. even if you have an earlier model (i have a 1995 model and worked no prob's) it is all the same principal really.

As partschaser said check down next to the battery. I had a problem there myself. Battery acid leaked down and ate through the plastic vaccum line going to the vaccum solenoid. Cut out the bad part and replaced with a rubber piece of vaccum line and I was good to go. As was also suggested check all electrical connections.

Had the same problem with my 94. I found a hard plastic vacuum line cracked on the vacuum module under the hood on the driver side near the rad. support. Was cracked right at the boot so I cut it back and reinstalled. Been working like that for the last 5 years.

Nice work. Have any instructions for getting the steering wheel and airbag off?

Just last night, my cruise quit working. Green light comes on, but no cruise. When I held both buttons (resume/accel AND set/coast) at the same time, the truck would almost hold the speed. Any suggestions here? Vacuum problem or switch related?
